In a dramatic and action-packed final of the Late Lok Bahadur Gurung Memorial Cup 2024–25, Glenburn United emerged victorious after a stunning comeback and a tense penalty shootout against Brotherhood United.

The match commenced with high intensity as Brotherhood United secured an early lead in the first half. Kunjaman Thapa delivered a brilliant assist to Saurav Chettri, who calmly slotted the ball into the net, putting Brotherhood ahead. The momentum continued early in the second half when Pramit Chettri extended the lead with a well-placed goal, making it 2–0 in favor of Brotherhood United.

As time ticked away, it seemed all hope was lost for Glenburn United, the tournament favorites. However, the tide turned dramatically in the final 10 minutes of regulation time. Rounak Sewa stepped up with a sensational brace, leveling the score at 2–2 and reigniting Glenburn’s hopes.

With both sides unable to break the deadlock in regular time, the match headed into a penalty shootout. Glenburn United displayed nerves of steel, converting all five of their penalties. Brotherhood United managed to score four out of five, with a crucial save by Glenburn’s goalkeeper, Abin Thapa, proved decisive.

In a thrilling second semifinal of the ongoing football tournament organized by Chamong Lorung Gown Football Club, Brotherhood United edged past Ghising 7 with a 4-2 victory in a penalty shootout. The match remained goalless throughout regulation time, despite both teams creating several scoring opportunities.

The contest was intense, with players from both sides showcasing remarkable skill and determination. However, neither team managed to break the deadlock, leading to a decisive penalty shootout.

Sachin S***a emerged as the hero for Brotherhood United, making two crucial saves that secured his team's place in the final. Brotherhood United converted all four of their penalties, while Ghising 7 managed to score only twice.

The first semifinal of the ongoing football tournament, organized by Chamong Lorung Gown Football Club, saw Glenburn United deliver a commanding 4-1 victory over Tiffandara FC, securing their place in the final.

Glenburn United set the tone early, with Jyoti Chettri opening the scoring within the first few minutes, capitalizing on a well-placed corner kick assist from Satyam Chamling. The momentum continued as Rounak Sewa extended the lead with a stunning long-range strike, giving Glenburn a comfortable 2-0 advantage at halftime.

The second half saw Rounak Sewa strike again, further strengthening Glenburn's dominance with a third goal. Tiffandara FC found a glimmer of hope when Tiger Gurung pulled one back, but any chance of a comeback was extinguished when Sagar Sherpa sealed the victory with Glenburn’s fourth goal.

For his outstanding performance, Rounak Sewa was once again named Man of the Match.

With this emphatic win, Glenburn United advances to the final, reaffirming their status as strong contenders for the championship.

A one-sided quarterfinal encounter between Bijanbari FC and Glenburn United culminated in a decisive 3-0 victory for Glenburn United, securing their semifinal berth. Despite the kickoff being delayed due to inclement weather, Ronak Sewa delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a remarkable hat-trick that sealed the win for his team.

As a testament to his exceptional display, Ronak Sewa was named Man of the Match.

In the final quarterfinal match, Ghising 7 dominated Tabakoshi FC, securing a resounding 5-1 victory. Mingma Gurung emerged as the star of the match, netting a brilliant hat-trick, while Shekhar Rai also contributed to the scoresheet.
With this win Ghising 7 advances to semi finals to face Brotherhood United Darjeeling.

In recognition of his outstanding performance, Mingma Gurung was named Man of the Match.

In the inaugural quarter-final match of the Lorung Challenge Cup 2024-25, hosted by Chamong Lorung Gown Football Club, Tiffan Dara FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Mirik FC. Prakash Rai scored an early first-half goal, setting the tone for the match. Despite a competitive and intense second half, Mirik FC was unable to equalize, enabling Tiffan Dara FC to advance to the semi-finals.
