Brevet 300 organised on 23 Jan 2021.
Few memories.
Dear All,
23rd January, 2021 Deccan Wanderers organised a brevet of 300 km distance. 4iders cm friends from Mumbai, Aurangabad, and not to mention our dedicated Ahmednagar riders participated enthusiastically.
We had a total of 15 riders who started the ride and all completed the ride within time.
Few outstation riders had overshot the control point by few km in the morning and at 200 km brevet.
Funniest part was that a rider from Mumbai who had done multiple brevets with us, missed the 200 km CP). It has heartening to note that, they took the same in their stride and with great humour.
For Pratik n me it was more of a party going on with them, interacting, joking having fun like what randoneuring is all about....
We had few fast and furious riders completing the ride in less than 15 hours. Few more could have finished earlier but for handling a puncture.
Then we also had the oldest rider who left his house at 4.00 in the morning to join our ride, he reached the start point at the dot of 4.30. He had the heaviest of cycle. Probably costing less than the brake / gear lever(STI shifter ) of our cycles.
Unlike the fortunate who all had company ride buddies during the ride, to interact with, this rider was riding all alone, in the early morning before sunrise, in the afternoon heat, when the sun went down, riding alone, smiling singing and cheering all other riders and finishing with 30 minutes to spare in the stipulated time.
This rider is none other than our very own Cycling Brand Ambassador of Ahmednagar. The real Cycling Iron Man with true Randoneuring spirit Mr Chandrasekhar Mulay. We salute you Sir.
Riders from our city rode in pairs either with regular riding partners or other riders from other cities.
Thank you, Kalpana Shinde for having CP1 and end control point.
Glad to note that Advait Gadgil, Sandeep Patil and Dinesh Launganj, completed their maiden SR series in our city.
All in all its a great experience for us, the deccan Wanderers.
