Grateful and Thankful to our Honourable Union Minister; Coal & Mines Sh. G. Kishan Reddy ji, for meeting me in such short notice. I had a wonderful interaction about TT, in its golden era and it's potential growth in the country with the advent of international leagues like Utt and international events. Hon' Minister was very positive in his feedback and support.

We are delighted to announce that Polyhose has roped-in Sh. S. Raman our Chief mentor to run the state-of-art training centre sponsored by Polyhose @ New College; Powered by Raman TT HPC.

Chennai will have a new preferred destination for TT High Performance coaching/training for locals/outstation players, very soon!!

Our centre will focus on providing quality training & coaching at affordable prices apart from catering to the talented players from economically weaker backgrounds.

This centre will be operational in 3-months time-frame ( approx ).

We are extremely thankful to Polyhose and New college for such innovative initiative under our operations.

Looking forward for exciting times, ahead!

We are pleased to announce that will be constructing international table tennis centre with state-of-the-art facilities in The New College, Chennai. An exciting development for the sports world is that Sh. S. Raman, a table tennis champion, will the chief mentor. The centre will attract talented players and enhance the standards of table tennis in Chennai with its 12 international standard tables, international standard synthetic floor and air-conditioned playing area.

Sh. S. Raman is an Olympian who has received numerous national and international awards. In 1998, he received the , and in 2021, he received the .

It's also admirable that Mr Shabbir Y.J, Managing Director of Polyhose, recognizes the importance of physical fitness in daily life and its impact on intellectual activity. This initiative is an excellent step towards creating a thriving sports culture and nurturing young talents in .

We wish The New College and the Sh. S. Raman TT HPC all the success in their endeavours.

Happy to share that the season has come to an end on a good note!
All is well that ends well, as the saying goes!

Our star player G. Sathiyan won the men's title for second time and became National champ again in convincing fashion making a short work of Harmeeth Desai, his Indian teammate and ONGC teammate/batchmate by 4-0 scoreline.

Including the age category & Senior nationals our centre players won 4 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze in the U19/17/15 nationals.

We are happy with the results, given the fact that our Chief mentor & coach joined us back only on Jan 15th after serving as Chief National Coach for 8-month period ( was unavailable for our centre ) on Pro-bono basis.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023 TO ALL!!

We are happy ro share that we have re-done our centre synthetic flooring, LED lighting, added 2 new tables, few Robot machines etc.

New and unique facilities are on the anvil!

This story is about Anirban Ghosh an India paddler from West Bengal.
He came to train at our centre as spar for Sathiyan prior to Olympic prep. We had promised him that if he's keen to move up in the sport and become a better player, we will support & work on him in depth, post Olympics.

Building to that, we have done good amount of work in his game and mentality over the last 8 M.His performance graph has improved with consistency in matches as his Forte.

He has steadily climbed up the Indian ranking in men and has moved into the top 6 from being in top 20 for the first time in his career.

We are confident that he will break into Top 4 and Indian team by next year.
We are glad to extend our support to him in this journey in realizing his true potential. He is a disciplined player ( though I sometimes feel he can work better 😆).

I am sure with recent good results,under his belt, he has got the self-belief and motivation to work deeper for the nationals and beyond.

We celebrated 73rd Republic Day with our players and also shared some thoughts about Republic Day and on the topic of Patriotism.

It was a lively interactive dialogue with our players. I was amazed at how much kids of this generation know compared to our generation.

Sathiyan shared his unique and personal experience of how he feels pumped up to give his best each time he steps on the court to play for India. The goosebump moments when tiranga was flown high when indian TT team won the Gold medal in CWG.
I recalled with fondness in my heart when I experienced the same when we ( Chetan and me ) won Men Doubles Gold @ Glasgow and India's first ever Commonwealth Gold in any event, up until then...back in 1997 & repeated in 1999.

We distributed chocolates after singing our National Anthem with pride written all over in our hearts.

We wish Sathiyan and Amalraj the very best as they leave to Euope to play some league matches for match practice before wtt events begin.

No nation is perfect, it needs to be made perfect by you and me as citizens of this great nation.

My regrets to Bala and everyone following our fb page, for this delayed post.

Bala Akin M. Balamurugan's rise to India's top TT ranking is an amazing story that could inspire a whole bunch of kids and parents alike.

He quit TT for 2020 season ( didn't play any state or national events ) and moved to pondicherry after his father retired from job.
We thought that it could be due to pandemic and lockdown, hence didn't check with his parents.

In March 2021 we checked on his whereabouts only to know that he won't be able to play in Chennai due to financial constraints.

We told his father that we will support him if he is willing to give Bala a chance to play the game he loved the most. His parents agreed and sent him to our centre for what was potentially a life changing decision.

He started first into fitness and good diet after bulking up for the most part in 2020 due to lack of activity. In 4 months, he got into trim shape, gained height and got better in the game too. He started his first state ranking being unseeded in U-15 and went on to win the title.

He further established his supremacy in the state with back to back titles and that set the tone for his first appearance in national ranking event. Prior to this he hasn't held any national ranking in any age event till date.

His first National ranking event was at mohali where he was in the qualifying rounds. He was fortunate to qualify by a close margin and it was his effort ans destiny that he progressed round by round to get a silver medal.

In the next one at Dehradun, he won the title with ease and followed it up with another title at Pondy. Winning back to back titles puts him comfortably @ India no 1 and what a journey it has been for Bala.

This only goes to show that with right guidance in coaching/teaching & self-belief with parental belief, there's a huge talent pool that can potentially come good within a short time.

We cut a cake to celebrate his good streak of performance.
It only goes to prove once again that " Hardwork beats talent when talent doesn't work hard "

Bala, you have done well thus far to ensure that you end the year on top. Enjoy and savour this moment while trying your best in the future events.

A key change & innovation to the game that Requires urgent attention by the APEX body ITTF/WTT :

Centre line in TT except making table look symmetry/beauty in singles has no relevance to singles. Hence it shud be moved broader (say 3/4 th)to make way for doubles and same can be retained for singles too.With the advent of Banana,there is a lop-sided Adv for receiver,thereby cutting the rally short,making it less spectator friendly.This will help the manufacturers and organizers of multiple events ( singles, doubles, mixed ) use the same tables for all events.

With Doubles being and becoming an important event in World and Olympic team events ( first match in teams is doubles ) apart from individual events and all other big ticket events like CWG, AG ( either men doubles or mixed or both ) the governing body ittf/wtt should consider moving the service line to 3/4 th table around, to neutralize the advantage of BANANA STROKE,( Presently it kills rallies and the one who is doing the serve is almost always at a disadvantage to loose the point in the next ball play ) thereby increase rallies in the game and make it Doubly-Delightful for the spectators.

No doubt the stroke of the century ( namely banana ) is here to stay. The games governing body need to innovate to achieve its broader goal of increasing rallies and making it more spectator-friendly & spectacular with long drawn athletic movements & rallies. 40 mm and plastic balls were a step towards that..a right step to be lauded....

T-2 Diamond league did away with the centre Vertical-line which was more a cosmetic gimmick looking at the table, than a technical diffenciator in terms of determining the outcome of play in singles.

Hope the change happens soon for the good of the sport.....
