Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram The Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram was founded by TKV Desikachar, son and student of T Krishnamacharya He studied with Krishnamacharya for over thirty years.

The Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram was founded by TKV Desikachar, son and student of T Krishnamacharya in 1976. Starting his career as an engineer, TKV Desikachar was inspired by his father's teachings and became his student in the 1960's. Today, TKV Desikachar is known and respected the world over as an authority on yoga. The Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram founded by him as a tribute to his father and mentor, is a Public Charitable Trust, recognised by the Health and Family welfare Ministry, Government fo India. Since its inception, the KYM has always stood for quality teaching respecting the needs, interests, abilities and secular faiths of its students. The KYM has played a significant role in popularizing yoga as a holistic science that stems from a well founded theoretical basis, rather than as mere exercises for physical fitness. The focus of all activities at the KYM is that anyone who wants to can practice yoga, that is specifically suited to his or her needs, and experience its multiple benefits. Kym is also recognised By the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi, as one of the Premier Yoga centres in the country.

This programme unfolds a broader exploration of the chants and guided meditation on select days.
Chanting session will be led by Ms. Bhooma Madhavan and Ms. Charulatha and meditative practice session will be led by Ms. Nrithya Jagannathan. This programme also includes a guest lecture on Rasa - An Āyurvedic insight by Dr. Madhumitha Krishnan.

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Pūrṇimā, it was a moment of immense joy and gratitude for all of us at KYM, as we released the reprint of the book titled, ‘Śrī T Krishnamacharya, The Pūrṇācārya.’

The book was received by senior teachers of the KYM present during the chanting session. We were also deeply honored to have Śrīmati Mala Srivatsan join us online to bless this special release.

‘Pūrṇācārya,’ is a biography of Śrī T Krishnamacharya. This biography was written in Kannada by Śrī T Krishnamacharya. Śrī TKV Desikachar translated the manuscript in English in the year 1996 and dictated the entire content, which was recorded and presented by Śrīmati Mala Srivatsan, one of the senior most student of Śrī T Krishnamacharya and Śrī TKV Desikachar.

This book was originally published by the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram under the guidance of Śrī TKV Desikachar in the year 1997, as a 108th Jayanti offering to Śrī T Krishnamacharya.

The Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram is honoured to release the reprint Śrī T Krishnamacharya, The Pūrṇācārya as part of its 50th year celebrations.
