π The Showdown Match of the Series π
This final had everything β smart captaincy, tight bowling, sharp fielding, pressure moments, and a finish that went right till 19.5 overs.
won the toss and chose to bowl first, even though chasing had not worked in the last two matches. A bold call β but it set up a proper high-pressure contest.
First Innings β Team Batting was a slow burner from the start. Both teams were constantly thinking β bowling changes, field settings, running between wickets. It felt like a proper cat-and-mouse game.
Mr Consistency Sathesh PS , as usual, was steady and brought up his 50. But the bowlers had clear plans β especially cutting off his STRONG reverse sweep options
played a very good supporting role, adding another 50-run contribution and helping the innings move even when boundaries were not easy.
The key phase came in the middle overs. When the run rate was close to 9 per over,
Satish Lingam, Mounagam, and PCA βAnil Kumbleβ pulled things back brilliantly.
π Just 5 runs per over spells
π Momentum completely slowed
That phase made a big difference.
Fielding also stood out. Mounagamβs team showed big improvement compared to earlier matches. Good catches. Runs were saved everywhere β even small efforts like cutting a 4 into a 3. In a final like this, those small things matter.
At the end of 20 overs, Mariadasβ team posted #170 β and a competitive total. At half-time, they .
Chase Begins β Tight Start
The plan was clear from Mariadas Pandian side β choke runs in the powerplay.
And they executed it perfectly.
Mariadas & Shyam (father-son duo) bowled with pace and control
Gladly kept things tight
π Run rate around 5 per over
π Pressure built immediately
After 8 overs, the equation was already tough:
130+ needed from 12 overs
Middle & Late Chase β Fightback
From there, it was about staying in the game.
Sivakumar Balasubramanian , Karthi, Sathish Kumar Lingam , Sanjay Jayakumar , and Mounagam all stepped in at different points and ensured:
π At least one six per over
π Momentum never fully dropped
This wasnβt about one player β it was a team effort.
Many players were ready to contribute even if it was only through fielding, about batting or bowling chances.
β Match on the Edge
The game went deep.
Last 3 overs: 36 runs needed
Thatβs when stood out.
No wild hitting.
No panic.
Just clean cricket shots, good timing, and control.
And finallyβ¦
#19.5 β β
Thatβs how close it was.
This was one of those matches where both teams gave everything.
Honestly, no one deserved to lose.
One special moment stood out:
Umpire gave not out
Thiyagarajan Ganeasan walked knowing he had edged it
That says everything about the spirit of the game.
Player of the Match
π Pradeepan
A complete performance with bat and ball.
A well-deserved reward for his consistent practice and effort week after week.
Off-Field Commitment
The effort outside the ground was just as strong:
brought his son from VIT, Vellore, even with an exam the next day
travelled ~60 km from Chengalpattu to Ashok Nagar just for a 1-hour practice
βs son Shravan requested and attended practice on Thursday
This shows the commitment behind this series.
Final Feeling
This was a true series finale β
full of moments, contributions, and team spirit.
π Bat π Ball π Fielding
π Attitude
Everything mattered.
Both teams deserved the cup.
But in the end,
π team lifted the trophy
