Before getting started with the video and tutor on how to swing silambam let us first learn how to choose silambam stick.

Like in Cricket a bat favor you for playing well. In silambam a stick aka kombu is very important in favor defend and attack opponent.

Each and every one have unique taste some prefer to be heavy and other to light weight.

But there should be a caution while choosing stick that it should not be too light weight as it would get broken easily.

In Chennai you will get silambam stick at many place. The best place is at Kuralogam at Parrys .

Let me know in any city or state apart from Chennai you will be watching the video I will suggest a good place to get the same.

If you are in Salem , anyone would be knowing better place to get the same.

The following stick which is shown in pic called Perambu kombu in Tamil and in English it is known as Cane stick would be the one usually used to practice Silambam.
