If you thought IITians were all brains and no brawn, you'd be delightfully mistaken. The Olympic style weightlifting events, the "sn**ch" and the "clean & jerk", followed both at the Inter Hostel and Inter IIT,
are among the most challenging skills in all of sport. Our weightlifters are really hard-working, when it comes to putting in the required amount of practice or losing that extra pound to m

ake the weight category! The IIT Madras weightlifting team is not only one of the constant medal winners in Inter IITs but also in Chennai District level competitions and inter college tournaments.
