The academy, which was started by Amritpal Sidhu places high importance on the quality of coaching provided to the students who are in the age group of 5 to 19 years. Apart from teaching, the founder of the Golden Age Football Academy has also set up an under 20’s club to create more opportunities for aspiring players. The academy offers the students three coaching sessions a week for which it doe
s not charge them, in order to help the players develop further and hone their skills. Along with training, the academy also provides aspiring players with scholarships to help them train at the best coaching centre in the city. The Golden Age Football Academy stresses on individual time allotted to each player because of which the founder is present at the coaching sessions which are for two to three groups of 12 to 18 boys daily, where he personally monitors their progress. “My philosophy is to create fun based environment for the children and give equal opportunity to all children to develop irrespective from what backgrounds they come.All coaching practices should be created to match the ability and needs of the children.I also request all parents to get involved and encourage their children to play and be a part of their activities as it will not only encourage the child but also help in building confidence”. The academy has plans to revive football in the state of Punjab and scouting the talent in rural areas starting with taking their programme to the Badal district of Punjab for a few days. Amritpal Sidhu has had a special connection with football since an early age. After completing his MBA, he chose to move ahead in Football as a career option. After completing his FA Level 1 foundation course in 2010 and gaining coaching experience he was invited to participate in the prestigious FA International Licence at St Georges Park in England in 2012. He successfully completed his AFC C licence conducted by AIFF in 2013. He travels to workshops in different schools and was invited by the Indian Army team last year to conduct a two week clinic in Jhansi.
