PINK TEST MATCH
ऑस्ट्रेलिया के सिडनी क्रिकेट ग्राउंड (SCG) पर हर साल जनवरी में होने वाले टेस्ट मैच को 'पिंक टेस्ट' कहा जाता है। यह मैच केवल खेल की दृष्टि से ही नहीं, बल्कि एक सामाजिक उद्देश्य के लिए भी पूरी दुनिया में मशहूर है।
सिडनी टेस्ट को 'पिंक टेस्ट' के रूप में मनाने की शुरुआत साल 2009 में हुई थी। यह महान ऑस्ट्रेलियाई तेज गेंदबाज ग्लेन मैक्ग्रा की पत्नी, जेन मैक्ग्रा की याद में आयोजित किया जाता है, जिनका निधन ब्रेस्ट कैंसर (स्तन कैंसर) के कारण हुआ था। इस मैच का मुख्य उद्देश्य 'मैक्ग्रा फाउंडेशन' के लिए फंड जुटाना और ब्रेस्ट कैंसर के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाना है।
इस मैच के दौरान पूरा सिडनी क्रिकेट ग्राउंड गुलाबी रंग में रंग जाता है:
खिलाड़ी अपनी टोपी (कैप), शर्ट के लोगो और ग्रिप में गुलाबी रंग का इस्तेमाल करते हैं।
स्टेडियम में मौजूद दर्शक भी गुलाबी कपड़े पहनकर आते हैं।
मैदान की बाउंड्री, स्टंप्स और स्कोरबोर्ड पर भी गुलाबी रंग की झलक दिखाई देती है।
टेस्ट मैच के तीसरे दिन को आधिकारिक तौर पर 'जेन मैक्ग्रा डे' कहा जाता है। इस दिन सिडनी का माहौल बेहद भावुक और प्रेरणादायक होता है। क्रिकेट प्रेमी दिल खोलकर दान करते हैं, जिससे मिली राशि का उपयोग ब्रेस्ट कैंसर नर्सों की सहायता और मरीजों की देखभाल के लिए किया जाता है। यह आयोजन खेल और मानवता के मेल का एक बेहतरीन उदाहरण है।
