Inspired by the life and philosophy of Guru Gangadhar Pradhan, whose vision extended beyond his chosen art of Odissi dance, GGPF is an umbrella organization that supports several cultural initiatives such the Konark Dance and Music Festival (organized by the Konark Natya Mandap), the Odisha Culture media enterprise (an internet gateway to all things cultural in Odisha). GGPF conducts regular train
ing in Odissi dance and music at their main branch in Kharavel Nagar in Bhubaneswar and their partner centre in Arka Vihar, Konark. GGPF dancers are acclaimed all over for their grace and perfection. The troupe continues to perform Guru Gangadhar Pradhan’s unique compositions and maintain the rigorous training standards set by Guruji. All dance and music forms of Odisha – gotipua, chhau, sambalpuri and other folk forms are promoted by the foundation. Troupes in all dance form practice and perform regularly all over the country. The troupes have won awards and acclaim continuously. The Gotipua troupe has regularly been selected to be the best troupe in Orissa. GGPFs newest media enterprise, hosted at the portal www.odishaculture.org will host information and entertainment for all aspects of Odishan culture. Streaming video and audio programming, literary discussions, art forums, handicrafts and cuisine will all find a home in this portal which is expected to be launched in October 2012.
