Thirty days ago this track was under repair. Raw tarmac. No lanes.
Today, Ancy Sojan Edappilly ran down it and landed at 6.88 metres — breaking Anju Bobby George's national record that had stood since the Athens Olympics of 2004. Twenty-two years. Gone. On this track. In Bhubaneswar.
The 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships gave India one of its greatest athletics moments. And Odisha got to host it.
This is what sport does when you build the right stage and trust athletes to fill it.
Congratulations Ancy. And thank you to every person who made Kalinga Stadium ready for a day like this.

30 days ago, this track was pure black tarmac.
Today, India is deciding its Asian Games squad on it.
The 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships is live in Bhubaneswar. 65 editions of this meet carry the weight of every sprint, jump, and throw in Indian athletics history.

To even stand on this track, every athlete had to compete in at least 3 AFI events this season. Not on reputation. On form.

We didn't just make the track ready. That was the easy part.

The harder work is what the Athletics Project of Odisha was built to do. The Odisha government — through DSYS — has invested in world-class infrastructure. Our job is to design the system and the process that makes this infrastructure produce athletes, not just events.

5 districts today. 314 blocks eventually. The pipeline is already running.

Infrastructure without process is just concrete.

Next: August 22 — World Athletics Continental Tour Silver, Bhubaneswar.
Then 2028: Asian Indoor + World Indoor Championships. Both. Same venue. Odisha.
