EW DELHI: The 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) gets underway this weekend, with eight franchises competing for the coveted title from April 7-May 31 across nine cities. This season sees the return of two franchises - Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals - after the two served two-year suspensions for the 2013 spot-fixing scandal.

Virender Sehwag will return to the cricket field one more time, according to his IPL team Kings XI Punjab. KXIP announced on Sunday that the batting legend Virender Sehwag will be back in action in their first IPL 2018 match against Delhi Daredevils at Mohali on April 8. The release said that Sehwag will come out of retirement and will open the innings in the absence of Aaron Finch. Virender Sehwag, who is Director of Cricket Operations, was also part of the discussions. New Delhi: After a two-year hiatus, two-time champions Chennai Super Kings are back for the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the team from down south will once again look to leave a lasting impression on the fans, something which they did so wonderfully well before their caravan was stopped ever so abruptly.
