Firstly, Rising Stars Cricket club would like to thank each and everyone of you who had prayed & wished us for the two important Semi Finals last weekend. Appreciate it !!
Going into the all important SEMI FINAL of NUANCE Freedom cup which we played against Deloitte on Saturday, the 9th November - the team was in all pumped up mood.
Let's go back a little into our history before summarizing the match details :-) Rising Stars cricket club is now 200+ matches and 2.5 years strong. In past 2.5 years we have played as many as 19 tournaments, tried different combinations and successfully went into Semi's 5 times before this time. In all the 5 times we had stumbled/fell short/Mankaded( ;-) )/Unlucky Decisions - due to which we could not make it into Finals. The wound was still fresh in each and every player of Rising Stars.
Enough of Story - Getting back to SEMI FINALS of NUANCE FREEDOM CUP ;-) . We had to enter the ground without the services of one of our frontline batsman Anjani Bajpai (due to some unavoidable circumstances - WE did miss him). Hence we had to make sure we played out of our skins! Batting first We won the toss and managed to put a fighting total of 153. (Mayank Sharma and Himanshu Vijan scoring quick fire 50's). Defending total we managed to restrict Deloitte for 129/9. Extraordinary Bowling efforts by Aakash Tripathi, Rakesh Sahoo, made sure Rising Stars was able to pick up wickets consistently at crucial junction of time. The standout for Rising stars was the fielding. Extraordinary catches by Prasad Pai, Himanshu Vijan and fielding efforts by entire team made sure that we sailed smoothly towards victory!! That sumps up an awesome team effort to register their first Semi Finals Victory.
Hardwork, Dedication, Perservarance and sticking onto each other in thick and thin pays off :-)
Time to Celebrate and Many more Finals to Come!! ;-) (Y)
