Can a table tennis robot be kept behind the table?

Yes. PongFox can be placed behind the table on a stand or support, instead of sitting on the table.

This gives the ball a more natural travel distance and better simulates how a real player hits from behind the table.

It also gives players more space for footwork and movement during practice.

A small setup change, but it can make training feel much more realistic.

The next ball requires a driving action.
