Rain and Onam go hand in hand. Hen was the paid actor while my daughter was chasing her away. We feared that hen might spoil the phookalam that we prepared.

Most couples prepare for the baby.
Very few prepare for the birth.

The hospital is booked.
The maternity photoshoot is done.
The baby’s clothes are washed and folded.
The hospital bag is almost ready.

But there’s one thing most couples forget to prepare for:

THE DECISIONS.

Because labour isn’t just about breathing through contractions.

There may be conversations, choices, interventions, changes in plan and moments where you’re asked to make decisions quickly.

And that’s when “I didn’t know I could ask that” can feel very different from:

“We knew our options. We knew what mattered to us. We were prepared.”

Your doctor will guide you.
Your hospital will have protocols.
But you and your partner deserve to understand what may happen before you’re in the middle of it.

That is what Labour & Birth Education is about.

Not planning a “perfect birth.”
Not fearing interventions.
Not going against your doctor.

Just replacing uncertainty with understanding.

Because you can’t control every part of birth.

But you can prepare for it. ❤️

This Independence Day, let’s celebrate a freedom that begins even before birth. 🇮🇳✨

Every generation begins with a mother.
And an empowered mother has the wisdom to choose, the confidence to ask questions, and the awareness to birth consciously.

Because when a mother feels informed, supported and empowered, she creates a stronger foundation for the generation she is bringing forth. 🌿

May we raise a generation that is free to feel, free to think, free to choose and free to thrive.

This Independence Day, let’s honour the women who are nurturing India’s future, one Garbh at a time. ❤️
