Chinmudra Academy for Performing Arts is a Bharatanatyam institution specialising in the training and choreography of the art form. The Chinmudra academy of performing arts was founded in 2011 with a vision to propagate the art form of Bharatanatyam in its true sense and maintain its rich tradition. It was started with just 2 students and has now grown to more than 40 students. Concentrating on t
eaching a balance of both theory and practical aspects of the art form; students receive methodical training in postures, movements, rhythm, technique and go on to learn the finer aspects of expressions, technicalities of performing, grace, endurance and presentation. While training on all this, the academy continues to instil the love for dance in its students. The Academy provides a friendly learning environment where the students learn to interact, encourage and perform to the best of their abilities. Every year, on the 29th of April, which is celebrated as World Dance day, students of Chinmudra actively participate in bringing all other forms of art and connecting it to dance. From self- choreographing dances to engaging in presentations and discussions, students are constantly learning the relationships between art forms. Two batches of students have appeared for Madhya level and junior diploma examinations and one batch has appeared for senior diploma conducted by Ravindra Bharathi University, Kolkata. All students secured distinction and were greatly appreciated by the examiners. The students have performed at various platforms around the city including Maasti Ranga Mandira, Vailikaval temple extension as part of Ramanavami celebrations and yearly performances at temples across the city on occasions of Shivarathri, Ganesha Chaturthi and Dussehra.
