“Let’s do the first ever Indian Ultramarathon!” was the refrain. Between the experience and knowledge of running Ultras that Madhu Avasarala, that inveterate traveller and runner brought in, the spine and time of team

RFL (then, Arvind Krishnan & Arvind Bharathi), the enthu of Nischal Pai, the medical and running background of Dr. Rajat Chauhan, the general and GPS awesomeness of Jugy, the ideation machines that were Ashok Nath, Partha Roy & Bhasker Sharma… we were set! Bangalore Ultra is the property of Runners for Life (RFL). RFL is an organisation dedicated to increasing the population of runners in the country. We are the largest running community in India at this point and do multiple activities to grow the community. The different activities includes conducting 10 of our own events across 7 cities, helping other event organisers conduct quality events, conducting run training for brands and companies, creating platforms to help support runners through different phases of their running life and create content on running across our website and a comprehensive fortnightly running newsletter. RFL is known for keeping the runner on the front of all their activities in the last 12 years of our existence.
