Since its inception in 2009, the company has grown to include various programmes under the leadership of Abhishek Majumdar. We at Indian Ensemble believe that theatre is not only for the society, but is a creation by the society. Traversing across India, the stories developed at Indian Ensemble has a rootedness in the realities of the country very rarely seen across Indian theatre. From the minute
st bearing of the rapidly changing Indian society to a critical appraisal of traditions and practices, discourses, politics and life in general in India, the creatively woven narrative styles draw constantly evolving and nuanced delivery from artists of great calibre from across the nation. However, we believe that our giving back to the society has to be more than engaging with the concerns of the country and allowing discussions to emerge. Driven by research and an understanding of the gaps in the Arts and Culture of contemporary India, Indian Ensemble began a social development wing under which two varieties of theatre training program have been conceptualised. These programs have been running successfully for the past one year.
