Camping trips in Bangalore - From a happy Camper !!
My first time experience with Camping!
Six of my closest friends and I decided to go camping. It was really getting boring catching up at each other’s houses :) plus we wanted some freedom.
So, after a little bit of ‘Googling’ for locations close to Bangalore for camping and day outing, we agreed on Camp Xtremezone…. The name seemed interesting!
After an easy booking process and freezing on the dates early June, we were all looking forward to the break from a boring routine.
We left Bangalore at around 3.00pm and arrived at the location called Dabguli Village close at 5.15pm. After parking the car, we trekked to the Camping site and were thrilled with the location of the camp placed nicely on the river. It was beautiful, with all the greenery and peaceful expanse of water. Small hills dotted the area around the dam and weather was beautifully cool.
The team had already set up our tents, where we were to spend the night. We quickly settled in and took a small tour around camp to familiarize ourselves. There were some other groups who were wrapping up their day and we were glad that we were the only ones camping that night.
Late that evening, we sat around the campfire the staff had lit, having our early dinner and catching up on our childhood antics. As the night wore on and the campfire was down to embers, we were sitting around looking up at the zillion stars, when Avinash, my closest buddy, suddenly decided to enlighten us with a scary story of how his colleague supposedly had an encounter of the creepy kind ! and like the lid was opened off pandora’s box, out came tumbling all sorts of stories from the others!!!
This was the best night out, where we tried to out do each other with our story telling…. And finally managed to close our ceaseless banter and went to our respective tents…
We woke up the next day to the sound of birds, and an early morning cool breeze. We did sleep very well, and the Quechua tents were really comfortable…
The staff gave us our early morning tea and we sat on the boulders overlooking river and let the beauty of nature soak into our souls….
We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and got ready to spend the day outing in the open and indulge in some adventure activities like never before for a fun filled day. Our time in the water, swimming and canoeing was also absolutely awesome ….
We were finally done by 5.00pm and got ready to depart from the camp site…………….
Our take-away from the camping experience was that we do need breaks like this to connect with nature and our inner selves without the daily grind and stress….
