SEPTEMBER COLLECTIVE PRACTICE — CHAPTER ONE

The first chapter of our Collective Practice for September is here!

For the first two Wednesdays — 2nd September & 9th September — the sessions will be led by Junafar.

Junafar will bring together his practice in Contemporary Dance and South Indian Folk Dance, exploring what happens when two different movement languages meet.

Dance forms often carry their own techniques, structures, and boundaries. But what happens when we begin to listen to movement beyond those boundaries? How can different forms meet, blend, and create a shared movement language?

Through these sessions, Junafa will invite us to experience this dialogue between folk and contemporary movement, exploring how the two forms can coexist, transform, and influence each other.

Come train, explore, question, and experience movement together.

MixTape is an improvisation space that embraces the spirit of play. The session creates space for dancers, theatre artists, movement practitioners, musicians, painters, gardeners, farmers, chefs, cab drivers, superheroes, politicians, everyone to play, explore, and engage with one another through guided exercises and playful tools.
It offers an open, supportive environment to explore movement, interact, and co-create with others. Whether you’re curious about movement or simply want to enjoy
moving together, this space invites you to experiment, connect, and express yourself freely in a non-judgmental environment.

Playful Body is a contemporary partnering workshop led by Maxime Freixas and Francesco Colaleo, exploring playfulness, pleasure, body awareness, and poetic expression through floor work and dynamic partnering. The workshop encourages trust, creativity, fluid movement, and connection, while allowing participants to discover their own movement language. Open to all levels, including amateur enthusiasts, dance students, and professionals.
