The name “Runphorics” is coined from the terms “Run” and “Euphoria”. In this current fast-paced life that we are leading, maintaining our physical and mental health is quintessential. Despite this fact being acknowledged, most of us find it a challenge to motivate ourselves to stay fit. On the contrary, taking up fitness as a group has been shown to work wonders. The benefits of group fitness are
many: first and foremost is the camaraderie that the members share; further, supporting and encouraging one another’s achievements, training and strategizing by the experienced, and motivation to the newcomers are other well-acknowledged benefits. We, at Runphorics believe in holistic fitness. Our focus is not just on physical health, but also on the mental health of the members as well as the society at large. In addition to running, we also engage in other fitness activities like yoga, strength and conditioning, and cycling. We are a happy bunch, who meet amidst the beautiful greenery of the Bangalore University campus 5 times a week – On Mondays for Yoga, Fridays for Strength and Conditioning, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for running.
