Sunday, 20th August 2017
It was a warm sunny morning but for many in the Charaka hall it was a day for some serious debate. We call it a battle of words where the participants presented facts and examples against which the opponent team came up with counter facts and supported their motion.
The topics for the first round were 'Is India's expenditure on defence justified' and 'Is artificial intelligence good for mankind'.
The finalists were 2k13(Nehal, Viswanath, Pooja, Veena and Meghna) and 2k14( Archana, Adarsh, Dency, Ekta and Yatik).
After a raging debate on the topic 'NEXT- A boon or bane', one of the most debated topic among the medical fraternity in recent times, Team 2k14 emerged as winners.
Our sincere gratitude to Dr. Sanjeev Kolagi and Dr. Umesh Ramdurg for being the judges and sharing their views on the debated topics.

The tug of war matches were held as a part of ATHLIO. The first match was between the All Stars and 2015 which was won by the 2015 team.
The second match was between 2013 and 2014.The 2014 team managed to win.
Team work and strategy worked successfully and the finals between 2015 and 2014 was won by the 2014 boys.
Congratulations to them!

The boy’s volleyball matches were held with much excitement.

The first game was 2k15 vs 2k16, 2K15 team beat their juniors and were into the semi-finals

The next game was between 2K12 and 2K14. 2k12 put up a good fight for their place in the semis but the 2K14 team was victorious!

The third game was between 2K13 and 2K11. With brilliant smashes, 2K11 won the match.

The semi-finals were between 2K15 and 2K14 as 2K11 got a by to finals. The 2K15 team made their way into finals with perfect blocks and smashes.

The finals between 2k15 and 2k11 was a nail-biting one till the very end. The 2k15 team smashed its way to victory!

Hello all!

As a part of ATHLIO ,the Indoor games were conducted in the Indoor Stadium from 31st July-3rd August. Chess, Carrom and Table Tennis was a part of it! The indoor stadium was bustling with people as all students, PGs and Professors took part with much enthusiasm in the games.

It was inaugurated by Dr. Ashalata Mallapur.

Here are the respective winners and runners up for the finals of all the matches!

Chess:

Men -2K14 Batch consisting of Sanjay, Shivendra and Saurabh won against 2K15 batch with Vinay, Krishna and Sharath.

Women- Akshata Nagaral of 2K13 won against Sushma of 2K15

Professors- Dr. Vikram won against Dr.Sanjeev Ratna

Carrom:

Professors and Pgs-

Men : Dr. Bajaj and Dr.Savadi won against Dr. C.S Hiremath and Dr. Mahantesh played in finals, Dr. Suresh was unable to attend the finals .

Women: Dr. Priyanka Jaju and Dr. Shraddha Pawar won against Dr. Shilpa and Dr. Archana

UGs:

2K15 team comprising of Abhishek, Abhilash, Vereesh, Rahul, Suraj and Naveen won against 2K14 team of Sanjay,Madhu, Vinayak, Siddangowda,Naveen and Shantesh.

Mixed doubles: Dr.Suhasini and Dr. Mrudhul won against Kishan and Krathika.

Independence Day evening saw ATHLIO conducting Kabbadi Matches, a game close to every Indian's heart!

The first match was between All Stars and 2K15 and it was won by the All Stars.

The next match was between 2K13 and 2K14. With movements swift as the gazelles the 2K14 team showed their passion for the game and won the match .

The waves of adrenaline could be seen on the whole ground throughout the final match between All Stars and 2K14
2K14 won the match, hence,getting the title of Kabbadi Champions. Kudos to them!!

On the evening of 12th august, the audience in dhanvantari hall saw a nail biting match of counter strike. There were two teams each from 2k14 and 2k15 and one team each from 'all stars' and 2k16.

The finalists were 2k14 (team1- Hanumanth, Madhu, Sanjay, Abheeth and Sagar) and 2k15 (team 2- Krishna, Sankalp, Naveen, Ragarooban, Vishwaraj). 2k14 emerged as the winners, holding the title for two consecutive years.
