Goa Cricket Association today inaugurated 6 new Net Practice pitches at the Vasco-Chicalim Ground, including 5 turf pitches and 1 cement pitch, marking another important step towards the development of cricket infrastructure in Vasco.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by GCA President Mahesh Dessai, Secretary Tulshidas Shetye, Vice President Paresh Fadte, Joint Secretary Anant Naik, Treasurer Abdul Majid, Member Mahesh Behki, Former President Vipul Phadke, BCCI Curator Suryakant Naik along with coordinators Yatin Kamurlekar, Sharad Chopdekar and All Respected Vasco Club Members.
All Vasco clubs were present during the inauguration, and their continuous support and cooperation played a major role in making this initiative possible. The GCA Managing Committee thanked all the Vasco clubs for standing together for the betterment of cricket in the region.
The newly developed practice facilities will provide a great opportunity for local players to train on quality wickets, improve their skills, and prepare for upcoming cricket seasons. The Managing Committee also stated that these are among the finest practice pitches developed for players in Vasco, and this initiative will contribute greatly towards the future growth of cricket and the development of talented young cricketers in Goa.

Today, the Goa Cricket Association conducted a talent hunt session for under-19 boys at the MCC Ground, Margao specifically for fast bowlers and left-arm spinners. GCA Joint Secretary Anant Naik, Junior Director Sharad Pendnekar, and the supporting staff were present.
This was a great initiative by the Goa Cricket Association Managing Committee to identify talent for the upcoming 26-27 season, especially fast bowlers and left-arm spinners, who will be valuable for us in the next season.

Today, GCA Secretary Tulshidas Shetye and Treasurer Abdul Majid personally visited the GCA ground. Since the ground relaying work is ongoing, they personally inspected the progress and discussed the next steps with the contractor.

These two have taken direct responsibility and will continue to monitor the work closely. The GCA managing committee will work together for the betterment of GCA.

🏏 Junior Cricket Tournament Successfully Held at BITS Cricket Ground 🏏

An exciting U-12, U-14 & U-16 boys cricket tournament was held at BITS Cricket Ground with participation from 8 teams. MCC emerged champions after defeating Vasco in the finals.

GCA to Conduct Selection Trials for U-19 Fast Bowlers and Left-Arm Spinners
The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) will conduct a selection session for promising fast bowlers and left-arm spinners in the Under-19 Boys category on May 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the MCC Ground, Margao.
Players wishing to attend the selection trials should be born on or after September 1, 2007.
Interested players can fill out the Google registration forms:- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSee1DD3bQy-mm73DZHdFZH4E3VZtcBjtketwVsmIdU9s8L0uw/viewform?usp=publish-editor , while offline forms will also be made available at the venue on the same day.

The Goa Cricket Association proudly inaugurated three major developments at the GCA Sanguem Ground — a dedicated Pink Centre, brand-new floodlights, and a new road connecting to the ground.

Adding to the celebration, an exciting women’s final match was played between the GCA Green Team and the GCA Yellow Team, where both teams showcased outstanding performances and great sportsmanship.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Subhash Phal Dessai along with GCA President Mahesh Dessai, Secretary Tulshidas Shetye, Joint Secretary Anand Naik, Treasurer Abdul Majid, Member Mahesh Behki, Saibar Mulla, and former Presidents Chetan Dessai, Vinod Phadke, and Vipul Phadke.

This marks another significant milestone in the development of the Sanguem Ground, and the GCA Managing Committee looks forward to bringing many more such developments in the future.
