Team Goa Arrives in Oman, Gears Up for Practice Match

Team Goa has arrived in Oman for a Practice Match tour as the squad steps up preparations for the upcoming cricket season.

The team took to the field for a focused Practice Session under floodlights tonight, sharpening their skills and fine-tuning their match readiness ahead of tomorrow’s Practice match.

With focused training, quality preparation and a strong team spirit, the players are set to make the most of the tour and gain valuable match Practice in overseas conditions.

The preparations begin under the lights tonight. The challenge awaits tomorrow.

Pre-Season Camp Begins in Delhi for Goa U-23 Cricket Team

The Goa Cricket Association's Under-23 squad has commenced its pre-season training camp in Delhi as preparations get underway for the upcoming domestic season. The camp is designed to enhance the players' fitness, technical skills, and overall match readiness through intensive training sessions.

The support staff for the camp includes Avadoot Amonkar as Head Coach, Aditya Naik as Fielding Coach, Deepak Sahu as Strength & Conditioning Coach, Vivek Kumar Mishra as Physiotherapist, Joshua Talwar as Masseur and Gautam Komarpant as Team Manager.

The camp will provide the players with valuable exposure and structured preparation, helping them build momentum ahead of the forthcoming BCCI domestic competitions. The Goa Cricket Association remains committed to providing the best possible environment for the development of its young cricketers.

Goa's rising star Abhinav Tejrana has been selected for the South Zone Duleep Trophy squad, becoming the only Goan to earn a place in this year's team.

This milestone is a testament to his unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and consistent performances on the field.

Goa Cricket Association Senior Men's Team Departs for International Practice Tour to Oman

The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) Senior Men's Team is all set to embark on an international practice tour of Oman from 8th to 18th August, marking an important phase in the team's preparations for the upcoming domestic cricket season.

The tour will provide the players with valuable match practice and exposure through a series of competitive fixtures against strong opposition in Oman. It is expected to help the squad build momentum, enhance team combinations, and fine-tune their performances ahead of the season.

The touring squad includes Snehal Kauthankar, Manthan Khutkar, Darshan Misal, Mohit Redkar, Deepraj Gaonkar, Shubham Tari, Vikash, Chigurupati Venkata, Abhinav Tejrana, Yash Kasvankar, Shivendra Bhujbal, Suyash Prabhudessai, Sanath Nevagi, Chittem Jeevankumar, Kaushik V., and Felix Alemao.

The support staff comprises Head Coach Dinesh Mongia, Bowling Coach Janapareddy Krishna Rao, Physio Keegan Menezes, Trainer Ninad Pawaskar, Video Analyst Amir Shetye, Team Manager Siddhesh Salunke, while GCA Vice President Paresh Fadte is also part of the touring contingent.

Before the team's departure, the players extended their best wishes by President Mahesh Dessai, Secretary Tulshidas Shetye, Treasurer Abdul Majid, along with the entire Managing Committee who encouraged the players to represent Goa with pride, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Goa Cricket Association Invites Applications for Fresher’s Umpire Recruitment ( Male/ Female Candidates)

With the objective of strengthening the standard of cricket officiating in the state and creating opportunities for former cricketers to remain actively involved in the game, the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) invites applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Fresher Umpires under the Player Quota.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

* Be below 40 years of age (born on or after 1st September 1986).
* Have represented Goa Cricket Association and played a minimum of five (5) BCCI-recognised matches at any level.

The recruitment process will consist of:

* Verification of eligibility and playing credentials.
* Written examination on the Laws of Cricket.
* Personal interview.
* Practical on-field assessment.
* Mandatory training sessions conducted by qualified instructors.

Goa Cricket Association conducted Movement Foundation Screening (MFS) for the players today as part of the pre-season assessment process. The screening evaluated mobility, stability, movement quality, and functional control to identify individual strengths, movement limitations, and injury risk factors, helping guide personalized training and injury prevention strategies for the upcoming season.

Goa won the first match of the Under-19 Men's One-Day Tournament against Pondicherry.
Pondicherry batted first and scored 277 runs. Then Goa's bowler Govind Sawal bowled really well and took 4 wickets.
In batting, Goa scored 279 runs. Aradhya Goyal scored 67, Mohit Yadav 59, Vineet Kamat 56, and Afrid Sab 52. Goa had a good win in their first match.
GCA President Mahesh Dessai, Secretary Tulshidas Shetye, and the entire managing committee congratulated the team and wished them well for their future matches.
