Sir Viv Richards. A masterclass in swagger, Muhammad Ali of cricket a personal hero of ours.
With Viv Richards, it was his swagger that always stood out, something people to date talk about while reminiscing his batting. The intimidating strut towards the middle, arms moving slowly, and chewing the gum summed up his style.
Watching him was like getting an education in unadulterated confidence. He would walk onto the pitch and instantly own it.

An excerpt:
He would walk up to a couple of players and give them some gum. He would then tell them to chew it. "Get some attitude maan." Swagger. Thatβs it. The players are in dreamland. They bowl as fast as they can. They know this is their one to chance to bowl out a legend. Sir Viv was then 62 years old. He didn't have pads, a helmet or a box.
He stood there and smashed cricketers half his age all over the ground. He has the hallmark of all great sportsmen. He looked like he was doing everything effortlessly. Slow motion, until the ball hit the bat.
And then he would bowl some spin. One of the batsman smashed it back down the pitch. Sir Viv caught it effortlessly and does a Calypso jig in the middle of the pitch.

Swagger. A mixture of confidence, aggression and self-belief. When Sir Viv walked onto the pitch he basically said without saying a word, this is my field. It is mine, not yours. I am taking it and there is nothing you can do about it. I am a giant. Today, is my day.
And all we can say is thank you Sir.
