DEV JAVIA WINS A REMARKABLE SINGLES AND DOUBLES ITF M15 TITLE AT HURGHADA, EGYPT!

The Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA) proudly congratulates Dev Javia on a phenomenal breakthrough week at the ITF M15 Hurghada, Egypt (23–30 August 2026), where he captured both the Singles and Doubles titles.

🔥 MAIDEN PROFESSIONAL SINGLES TITLE

Dev produced an exceptional singles campaign, defeating:

• R32: V. Ursu — 1-6, 7-6, 6-0
• R16: K. Mabrouk — 3-6, 6-3, 6-1
• Quarterfinal: M. Krajci — 6-3, 6-2
• Semifinal: Y. Smiej — 6-4, 7-5
• Final: 7th seed Aaron Funk — 6-2, 6-3

Dev’s title-winning run included victories over the 1st, 5th and 7th seeds, showcasing tremendous consistency, resilience and competitive character. Remarkably, he also came back from a set down in each of his first two matches.

🏆 DOUBLES CHAMPION

Dev then completed the Double title, partnering with C. Duhan to claim the Men’s Doubles title.

In the final, the Indian pair defeated A. Elsayed & K. Ibrahim 6-4, 6-3.

Two titles. One unforgettable week.

Winning his maiden professional singles title while also lifting the doubles trophy marks a major milestone in Dev Javia’s career and is a proud moment for Gujarat Tennis.

Om Patel Wins ITF J60 Chennai Boys’ Singles Title

The Gujarat State Tennis Association proudly congratulates Om Patel on winning the ITF J60 Chennai Boys’ Singles Title with an outstanding display of resilience and fighting spirit.

🏆 Match Results:
• Round 2: def. Karan Thapa — 7-6(4), 3-0 [conc.]
• Round 3: def. Ranveer Singh — 3-6, 6-4, 6-1
• Quarter-final: def. Prakash Sharan — 6-4, 7-5
• Semi-final: def. Ribhav Saroha — 7-6(7), 2-1 [ret.]
• Final: def. Om Verma — 1-6, 6-3, 6-1

After losing the opening set in the final, Om produced a champion’s comeback, winning the next two sets with powerful groundstrokes and excellent baseline control.

A well-deserved international title built on resilience, belief, and determination.

The future of Gujarat tennis continues to rise.

Important Awareness Session by GSTA for Upcoming Tennis Players & Parents 🎾

GSTA will be conducting a very important presentation aimed at creating awareness amongst upcoming players and their parents.

Topics covered include:
✅ Pathway to becoming a top-ranked player
✅ Importance of rest, recovery & injury prevention
✅ Balancing sports and studies effectively
✅ Benefits and support available through AITA, GSTA, SAG, SAI & Government schemes
✅ Understanding opportunities, rankings, and player development pathways

We request all coaches and academies to share this in your respective groups to maximize awareness and participation.

This session will also support coaches, as informed parents will better understand the requirements, commitments, and long-term needs of tennis development.

Together, let’s build stronger awareness and a better pathway for future players.

🔥 Vaidehee Chaudhari Finishes as Doubles Finalist at ITF W35 Tumakuru

The Gujarat State Tennis Association congratulates Vaidehee Chaudhari on an excellent doubles campaign at the ITF W35 Tumakuru, finishing as Doubles Finalist alongside partner Zuzanna Pawlikowska.

The top-seeded pair showcased consistency and high-level performances throughout the tournament to reach the final of the prestigious event.

Vaidehee Chaudhari & Zeel Desai Reach Semi-Finals at ITF W35 Tumakuru

The Gujarat State Tennis Association proudly congratulates Vaidehee Chaudhari and Zeel Desai on their impressive semi-final performances at the ITF W35 Tumakuru, competing strongly against higher-ranked international opponents.

🏆 Semi-final Results:
• Vaidehee Chaudhari lost to top seed Justina Mikulskyte — 3-6, 6-2, 2-6
• Zeel Desai lost to Zuzanna Pawlikowska — 7-6(9), 2-1 (retd.)

Vaidehee showcased tremendous resilience and fighting spirit by pushing the top seed into a deciding set, while Zeel displayed exceptional composure under pressure, saving multiple set points in a highly competitive opening set before an unfortunate retirement in the second.
