🏀 PROUD MOMENT FOR INDIAN BASKETBALL 🇮🇳
We are delighted to share that Rohit Thakur has been appointed as the Coach of the Indian Team for the FIBA U18 Men’s Asia Cup SABA Qualifiers to be held in Sri Lanka.
He is also serving as the General Secretary of the South West District Basketball Association and continues to contribute immensely to the growth of basketball in India.
Teams from India, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan will participate in this prestigious tournament.
Currently serving at the Sports Authority of India in Delhi, Coach Rohit Thakur has been contributing to basketball coaching for the past 10 years with dedication and excellence.
Earlier, he also served as the coach of the Indian Women’s U-16 Team at the FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup, where the team brought glory to the nation by winning the Gold Medal.
He was also part of the Indian Senior Women’s Team coaching staff during the South Asian Basketball Championship, where India once again secured the Gold Medal and made the country proud.
Coach Rohit Thakur is a certified FIBA WABC Level 1 Coach. He completed his Diploma in Sports Coaching (Basketball) in 2017 from Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education and completed his Masters in Sports Basketball in 2022 from Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports.
