After a two week bikepacking trip and a few days of recovery, I managed to finish the frame for my new bamboo bicycle!!! :)

I will now proceed to build the bicycle itself. I have some components and some I have to get (I work in a bicycle store, so not a difficult task). This to be completed soon.

The frame is built. The joints are rough and require some more work done on them, then they'll be rasped and buffed to look pretty.
But, on two wheels, it certainly looks like a bicycle!
The wheels are the 27.5" X 2.8. The frame can take the 29" wheels too :)

I'm very happy with my progress. So far, building this new bicycle frame is running along smoothly (yeah, I know...).
Anyhow, after building part of the joint that holds seat stays and top tube to the seat post, today I attached the head tube, just temporarily, to the down tube.
The bike is on the floor and is tilted backwards (13 degrees exactly). So I set the protractor at 55 degrees for the head tube to be at 68 degrees when the bicycle is horizontal.
Once this temporary joint of the head tube is set, I will measure to verify that it set correctly (correct angle and in line with the seat and down tubes). Then, I will apply linen and epoxy to make the joint firm enough for me to attach the top tube.

Once the chain stays were set, I affixed the seat stays to the seat post temporarily, using balsam spacers (hand fitted) so a 27.7 / 2.8 wheel will fit. Leaving about 1 cm on each side as bamboo is a bit flexible. This will allow the wheel to miss the stays when I break (using a disk brake).
I then built the joints to the dropout area and now, I can connect the seat stays to the seat post. This will be only part of the joint. I will complete the joint when the top tube is ready to be set. This will be later in the project.
You can now see the dropout to stays joints, the first temporary connection of the seat stays to the down tube and finally, the spacers after working them down to a minimum required to keep the seat stays in the correct distance from the seat post.

So now that the joint is set firm and it is in the correct angle, I will rasp it down somewhat and build a second layer of linen rope over it so it will be even and smooth.
When I say smooth, I mean no lumps. The exterior, however will display the rope. I like the 'hand made' look of the joints.

Today, after inspection of the temporary joints I made I found them stable enough, and managed to work on them, adding m...

Today, after inspection of the temporary joints I made I found them stable enough, and managed to work on them, adding more linen rope, wrapping the joint with epoxy and the rope.
Tommorow, I'll show the result, which is still not final. Photos are before. Tommorow the after..

The rear wheel is now attached to the front part of the bicycle.
I had to make sure that the wheel, seat tube and down tube are in one line, that the chain stays are 430 mm long and that the BB remained horizontal.

The attachment I made is just to hold things together. One dry, tomorrow, I will measure again. If all is good, then I will build the joint up and make is firm. If not....back one stage :)

So, after connecting the bamboo to the dropouts, yesterday, I have mounted the frame (BB, down tube & seat tube so far) to the rails of the balcony. I have no room for a proper jig.

I set the seat tube angle to 75 degrees, I made sure that the bb is horizontal and cut the chain stays to the length from which I can start designing and trimming the stay to match the BB area to make the joint strong and away from where the pedal cranks will be.

I placed a spacer (made of bamboo, naturally) at the bottom of the BB (Bottom Bracket) to ensure the height of 310 mm.
