Self Defense Maor

The Center is an educational institution that trains instructors and trainees to teach self defense.

The Israel Self Defense Center was founded in 2004 in the city of Modi’in (located between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem). We established the Center in Modi’in because Modi’in is a unique, modern Israeli city with a young population and a large number of children – it is the city of the future. From a young age, children, according to their stage of development, participate in a special program that focu

ses on coordination, physical fitness, psychology, and love for others and for oneself. Youth aged 16 and above – Youngsters are prepared for their draft into the army in the framework of a three-year program that includes specialized physical fitness training, Krav Maga and more. Adults – The Center offers a special self defense program that includes specialized physical fitness for adults, flexibility and more. Women are offered self defense classes that include physical fitness, psychology, lectures on stress, fear and more. Members of the security forces are offered self defense handgun shooting training, specialized Krav Maga Maor for police officers and members of the security forces, physical fitness, policing techniques and more.

On Friday, 20/5, a special self-defense training of the Israel Karate Federation was held at the Wingate Institute.

The training was conducted by Amnon Maor, the self-defense expert and head of the self-defense division of Karate Federation.
Twelve coaches participated, all wearing black belts.
The training included techniques of release from attacks, use of the short stick and other principles for self-defense.

This is the first training in the series and later there will also be additional training of defense with regular batons, defending against knife attacks and more.
