There are certain words and phrases that I say on repeat while training my clients.

They are things that are easy to forget

They are the things we need to hear to make the most out of a workout.

Yesterday my stress levels were particularly high as I was doing my own training.

I said these 3 phrases out loud to myself and I realized that I wasn’t just talking about the movement I was doing.

It became clear that I needed to hear these words to get through the stress

And of course, through my training, and through putting these 3 things into practice…
I did ultimately feel better.

Even if only for a short time.

So I invite you to:

💙 Relax your shoulders

💙 Slow down

💙 Don’t forget to breathe

Fitness is a great tool for stress management and it teaches us a lot about how to overcome challenges and obstacles.

There are SO MANY reasons to work out that have nothing to do with the scale…

Yes, people will often come to me for the purpose of losing weight…
But one of the main components of my coaching is helping people find joy in the performance based achievements that they get through training.

Instead of always aiming for the number on the scale to go down,
You could be trying to:
💪🏻 Improve your form on a certain exercise
💪🏻 Increase the weight you lift on a certain exercise
💪🏻 Strengthen a specific part of your body
💪🏻Change your body composition
💪🏻 Master an exercise that is naturally difficult for you
💪🏻 Increase endurance
💪🏻 Improve mobility/flexibility

All of these goals are achievable FOR ANYONE if they follow a good training program

The scale is unpredictable, and changes depend on variables that are often out of our control.

But performance based goals are easily tracked and measured.

And making progress towards these goals, can often be way more satisfying, way easier to celebrate, and can bring you much more confidence than any number on the scale.

It’s the best feeling in the world!

I am not PERFECT

I am not a perfect mother…
Sometimes I lose my patience, sometimes I forget to pick my battles…
But I start every day with the INTENTION to do my best

I am not perfect at running my business…
I have made many mistakes along the way, neglected to set boundaries…
But I take ACTION every day to make my business better

I am not perfect in my healthy habits either…
I don’t always make the best food choices, and I’m not always motivated to work out…
But my most CONSISTENT actions are the ones that honor my body and my health/fitness goals

I am not PERFECT

And you don’t have to be either.

Perfection is not the answer.

Instead….
💠Set your intentions (i.e. your goals)
💠Take action towards those goals every day
💠Be consistent in your actions the majority of the time

And forget about perfection, because it doesn’t exist.
