Student Formula team from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology The prototype race car is to be evaluated for its potential as a production item.

Technion FSAE Racing is a racing team which is comprised of students from several faculties of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. The team goal is to design, manufacture and compete in an international competition of the SAE - Society of Automotive Engineers organization which is named Formula SAE. The concept behind Formula SAE is that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted

a student design team to develop a small Formula-style race car. Each student team designs, builds and tests a prototype based on a series of rules, whose purpose is both ensuring on-track safety (the cars are driven by the students themselves) and promoting clever problem solving. The prototype race car is judged in a number of different events: Design Event, Cost & Manufacturing Analysis Event, business Presentation Event, Acceleration Event, Skidpad Event, Autocross Event, Fuel Economy Event, and Endurance Event.

Next week, Formula Student teams will undertake the official quizzes, which assess their knowledge of competition rules, safety requirements, and technical regulations.

These quizzes are a critical component of the process and directly influence which competitions each team is eligible to attend.

Strong performance demonstrates a team’s understanding of the regulations and readiness to participate at the appropriate events.
