Exactly 4 years ago I fell in love with this lovely racquet sport called Crossminton.
Here I am at 3 days training camp in Bulgaria organized by International Crossminton Organisation e.V. - ICO
It was a huge honor to meet and learn basic practices from Jasmina Keber Šušteršič who was our trainer and who is a lovely person and a great sportswomen. It was a big pleasure to meet and to befriend with Matjaž Šušteršič who the president of International Crossminton Organisation e.V. - ICO. Also was really glad to meet and know sportsmen from Crossminton Bulgaria .
When i came back home my passion to Crosmminton became even greater. I had decided that i want people in Israel play Crossminton as well. Tיודת I have founded Israel Crossminton Club - the first organized group of people to play and compete Crossminton.
These were COVID times... things went very slowly.
However, through these years we had achieved some humble accomplishments:
1. In 2022 Israel Crossminton Club became an official member of International Crossminton Organisation e.V. - ICO
2. Through this year we managed to enlist about 20-25 new players in all ages , women and men.
3. The same year first 3 players participated in 6th World Crossminton Championships which was held in a great city of Zagreb, Croatia.
4. At the end of 2022 Israel Crossminton Club organized the first 100 points tournament with 14 participants.
*Actually 2022 was the most prosperous year so far...*
5. The following 2023 Israel Crossminton Club managed to participate in the 7th ICO World Championships 2023 held in Brno, Czech Republic. The big achievement was that Андрей Маргулев brought a bronze medal back to Israel in 70 years category!
I am very much aware that these are very humble achievements . I wish I could make more and wish i could achieve greater activity and wider exposure to Crossminton.
However life is life. People are people...
I pretty much aware the i need to be better
But also...
To make wider exposure we need more resources.
To have greater activity we need more resources.
To play more we need places and halls in the city
To organize tournaments we need more support from municipal agencies
To play good we need players
