Sweet release occurs somewhere in the middle of my first spin session.

First, the rhythm locks in and noise disappears. And even before that the lights go down, I get spiked and take a deep breath, and my body takes over.

Finally there’s the afterglow.
I’ve done it.
It felt good.
Feels.

And then humility kicks in.
I have so far to go.
Much to grow.
Ego in check says “I am great” and “I am nothing” simultaneously.
I can command my body and it will go.
The more I practice the closer I’ll get to this ever elusive perfection.
I want it now.

There’s nothing like spinning.

I book session #2.
It’s only a few days later.
I have morning-after pains. Nothing crazy.
But I want it so badly. I show up and swallow it like a pill.
I've done it! I'm driving home again.
It's good.

Session #3 is still within the first week.
This relationship is treating me well.
I’m off to a fresh start.
I can see myself becoming me again.
Capable like a beautiful kid in a big blue world.
Possibility and hope are welling up in my world.

Session #4 and week #2 are the very last until after August.
Why??
We’re going on vacation.
I’m so lucky.
So much to be thankful for.
But the pain of not having my newfound pill…
I can’t tell why I’m up late at night or whether the tears at 3am are from grieving or ecstasy.

There's nothing like spinning.
