We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Frankie Fitzpatrick (née Hunt). The Fitzpatrick family have been an integral part of Wicklow Swimming Club for generations. Alongside her late husband Jimmy and sister-in-law Betty, Frankie was part of a family whose passion and commitment helped shape the spirit and traditions of our club.

That legacy continues today through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are now proudly part of our club community and carrying that connection forward.

The annual Club Vartry Swim, presented to the club 75 years ago remain a cherished and enduring highlight of our season a fitting reflection of the family’s lasting contribution, and more recently celebrated during last year’s 75th swim.

On behalf of everyone in Wicklow Swimming Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Arthur, Liam, Claire, Karen and Marianne, and to all of Frankie’s family and loved ones at this very sad time.
May she rest in peace.

We are playing our part during this year's Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week.

This year the campaign focuses on how you, as parents and carers, help to bring out the best in your child.

Your support means everything 🏅

The way you show up for your child in sport, whether it's cheering them on, listening when they've had a tough day, or helping them stay motivated, can shape how they feel about sport for life.

Whether they're chasing medals, personal bests or just having fun, your encouragement helps bring out their best.

Here's how you can play your part:
Listen to your child 👂
Keep sport fun 🎉
Respect everyone 🤝
See something? Say something 👀
