The fantastic performances from St. Paul’s just keep on coming!!!!
First we had Cole and Tadgh representing Bridgetown College in the South Leinster Schools in Carlow. Tadgh came 4th in the junior shot putt with a new PB of 8.47, while Cole came home in the 1100m with an amazing gold!
Next was the Wexford Track and field 3rd day for our u9 to u12s
Another good day with four golds, two silver and a bronze from 14 of our young athletes.
Chloe starred again with wins in the sprint, long jump, 300m and the relay.
The u9 girls sprint final starred 4 from St. Paul’s, with Chloe, Sarah, Sadie -Grace and Jada all lining up! Superb performances all round!
The u9 relay team of Sarah, Jada, Sadie Grace and Chloe, came home with a fabulous gold!
Our 2nd U9 relay team of Kate, Anna, Lucy and Maisie just missed a medal in 4th.
Our u9 boys were also in action in the relay with a team of Luke, David, Reggie and Jack and achieved an amazing 3rd place, and were delighted with their medals!
David and Maisie won silvers in the Turbo Javelin with some great throws.
Senan and Pippa put in some fantastic performances but missed out on the medals.
Finally the Wexford Track and field Day 4 for the u12s and upwards.
We had a great turn out for our u12 boys, with Archie trying out the hurdles for the firsttime and winning his heat and coming an amazing 3rd in the final!
Sean also tried hurdles and narrowly missed out on a spot in the final!
In the sprints, Eoin and Archie made it through to the semi finals, with Eoin just beating Archie to get the last place in the fin
Everyone had a go at the shot putt, and Darragh had a great throw to come 3rd overall.
In the long jump, there were some brilliant jumps, with Archie coming second overall!
Artem got a fabulous gold in the long jump, and Ailbe came 4th in the u14shot putt with a new PB.
What a fabulous weekend of competition, with representatives from all the local schools – Kilrane National School , Our Lady's Island National School , Tagoat National School, and Scoil Mhuire Rosslare,
Amongst our parents and coaches it was a quiet week, with just Nemone running at SETU Arena parkrun in Waterford, and also taking part in Darkness into Light with Ailbe.
We are always looking for new members, come along to Rosslare Strand track on Mondays or Wednesdays from 6to 7, and have a chat!
Don’t forget our Community run/ walk on Thursdays at Rosslare Harbour Church at 7.30pm, with coffee afterwards.
