PPLs, how current are you at recognizing flight at a critically high angle of attack? The Rollason Condor EI-BDX based at ILAS airfield, Co Wexford, is the ideal machine on which to brush up your handling skills under the watchful eye of our experienced tailwheel instructor. Tailwheel difference training, Max rate turns, Upset recognition and recovery, Glide approach with sideslip ..... whatever you feel would be useful. Here's a challenge to all and sundry. Visit ILAS airfield and land on the touchdown zone marked out on the runway ...... three times in a row. Then repeat the exercise gliding from a position downwind abeam the landing threshold. Touchdown zone is 6m wide by 30m long set 60m in from the threshold. (Thr displaced 30m from airfield boundary).
Get yourself ready for the spot landing competitions during the 'fly in' season. Sympathetic instructor available if you want to brush up on side slip techniques etc.
