St. Joseph's GAA Club GAA & LGFA club in Wexford town that is all inclusive catering for all ages. We are based on Whiterock Hill where our new clubhouse is taking shape.

We love our club and value our community and we're always happy to welcome new members & players. We are a GAA club situated on the south end of Wexford town playing our home games at Whiterock Hill. Our new clubhouse is on the way and we are just finalising a few administrative issues before the construction starts. This is Tony Walsh who thought he had to pick up his granddaughter Maisey after her training session yesterday evening with our county finalists bound U14's. The truth is this was a ploy to get him pitch side so he could be presented with his own half zip top. Tony is a tremendous supporter of these girls and of the club in general so it was a really classy touch by the management to acknowledge his contribution and to show that he means a lot to the whole group. It is gestures like this, filled with gratitude, kindness and thoughtfulness, that helps to build clubs and communities and sets a wonderful example to the young girls watching on. Well done everyone and a big thank you to Tony for being such a terrific source of support for the team and management.

Earlier this evening our U14 girls were presented with their beautiful new half zips which were generously sponsored by Hoop Medical who specialise in creating advanced medical balloons which enhances medical device innovation worldwide, this is a Wexford company based out of Ardcavan Business Park and we are so grateful to CEO Clive Hayes for his company's support. The squad was naturally delighted to accept these as a token of appreciation for all they've achieved this year - Molly Farrell Purcel was the only girl missing tonight and she'll be able to collect her half zip next time.
The tops look amazing and the girls and coaches deserve these for the incredible amount of time and dedication they put in - they train twice a week and this shows in matches when they use the understanding and chemistry that has been built up, to good effect - they are all an inspiration to everyone in the club and we're so proud of them - Don't forget these girls will face Rathgarouge Cushinstown in the County Final on Friday 18th September at 6.15pm in Rathangan! Be there to support this wonderful team, they deserve no less!

Well done to our mens team who overcame a stern challenge yesterday in the shape of a gallant Ferns GAA in the final Junior A Championship group game. The win maintains our 100% record as we look ahead to the quarter final in a few weeks which will be against Adamstown.

We were slow out of the blocks as Ferns got off to a quick fire start with a goal and a point inside the first few minutes. This left us reeling against a very strong wind but gradually we clawed our way back and went in at half time only a point behind. A goal from the industrious Dean Hillis proving vital as we took stock at the interval. In the second half the irrepressible Deckie Downes decided to really put his paw print on proceedings as he grew more and more influential - he scored what can only be described as a delicious point off his left foot before a soccer style sliding tackle flattened him in the square which led to Ryan Gavin banging home a sweetly struck penalty. A final goal from the prodigy that is Eoghan McCleane sealed the deal in the end.

Here's the plan for the week ahead with it being a quiet one in terms of matches. However our valiant minor lads are still in with a chance of winning some silverware and they'll face our neighbours St. Mary's in a shield semi on Saturday morning. Also our U8 girls will be hosting a blitz on our pitch on Sunday as part of the Ladies Gaelic Football Festival of Football to celebrate go games, so that's bound to be a wonderful occasion!
