A strong Westport Tennis Club contingent competed at the Wicklow Junior Open 500 at the County Wicklow Lawn Tennis Club this week.

Jessica Staunton reached the under 14 doubles final with her partner Ellen McNicholas from Nenagh with both girls also reaching the 1/4 finals in the singles. Penny Cabot competed well in the u16 girls.

Jack Renton also competed in the u14 tournament playing with Oisin Barry from Castlebar TC in the doubles and Jessica Staunton in the mixed doubles.

Eoghan Jennings even popped in for a session in advance of the wildcard qualifiers for the ATP Challanger Event in Dublin. Well done all !

Very successful Junior 200 Westport Open. Juniors from all over Ireland participated including Westport Tennis Club's Jack Renton, Eoin O Raghallaigh, Penelope Cabot, Frank Jennings, Anna Jennings & Ben Jennings with Anna Jennings winning the Girls Singles Under 16 and Ben Jennings winning Boys Singles Under 16.

Excitement is building in Westport Tennis Club as we host the Youth Westport Tennis Open this weekend from Saturday to Monday. The tournament has become an established fixture on the Irish youth tennis circuit calendar. An array of tennis talent will be on display with players travelling from all over the country all doing their best to clinch the Westport Open title! A big thank you to Jan Frydech, our professional coach, who will officiate at the tournament. A cead mile failte to all the players and their parents and guardians. We hope you enjoy the weekend and the Westport Tennis Club renowned hospitality! Let the games begin!

We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to the Masters 65-80 Interprovincial Championships taking place in Westport and Castlebar Tennis Clubs today and tomorrow. Wishing the best of luck to all teams competing, especially the Connacht team!

A strong junior Westport Tennis Club contingent competed in the Claremorris Smyth Stores 500 Open this weekend.

Our very own Frank Jennings won the u18 boys while his sister Anna Jennings reached the final of the u16 girls, both playing some excellent tennis.

Matthew O' Raghallaigh narrowly lost the semi final of the u16 boys with Jessica Staunton reaching the semi final of the u14 girls, losing out in a tough battle. Also representing the club were Eoghan O' Raghallaigh and Ben Jennings who both recorded 1st round wins and Penny Cabot who competed very well. The brand new Westport Tennis Club gear was on show!

The standard was very high with participants travelling from all parts of the country for it.Thank you to Adrian Walsh and all at Claremorris Tennis Club for a really well organised event and for it's hospitality.

Hi guys, I'm doing Women's Mini Marathon Mayo 2026 to raise vital funds for Sunflower Children's Hospice.

The Sunflower Children’s Hospice will be the first children’s hospice outside Dublin. Located in Castlebar, all funds raised will support the development of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice, which will provide essential care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for their families.

What a day we had yesterday for our open day☀️🎾
Glorious sunshine, a brilliant turnout for all the tennis activities, and a BBQ that did not disappoint 🔥
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Tennis 4 Cancer fundraiser — we really appreciate it 💙
Special shoutout to Filip on the ball machine, Eoghan Jennings and Jan for the on-court inspiration, and Willie for absolutely smashing it on the BBQ!
