Three players who came through the Westport United underage system are involved in tonight’s League of Ireland Premier Division game between Sligo Rovers and Galway United.

Jamie O’Malley and Conor Cannon are both in the Sligo Rovers squad, while Conor Whittaker is named in the Galway United squad.

A special mention also to Conor Walsh who is named in the Shelbourne squad tonight for their game against Drogheda on his return from injury.

It’s fantastic to see four lads from our own underage system reach this level and once again it shows the pathway that Westport United can provide for young players with the ambition to reach the highest level of Irish football.

We’re also very proud of the strong relationship we have with Sligo Rovers F.C., which continues to provide great opportunities for young players from Westport to progress and test themselves at the highest level.

A big win for our Men’s B team today away in Ballyheane in the Mayo Premier Division

An excellent performance saw us come away with an 8-2 victory, with Eoghan Powell the star of the show, bagging four goals for himself in the process

Goal highlights from last night’s 5-2 win away in Glenhest.

Kevin Ketterick grabbed a hat-trick, with Dan O’Malley adding two as we picked up another big three points.

The win puts us six points clear at the top of the Mayo Super League, with two massive games against Ballina Town and Castlebar Celtic at United Park still to come
