Congratulations to Charlie Walsh on his joint 1st place finish with Simon Thornton on the Irish PGA Pro Am circuit. A magnificent 68 in his second round saw him share the title with tour veteran.

Birdies on 15th, 17th, 18th, 4th and 5th with a championship clinching "bounce back" birdie on the 7th and a remarkable par save on the 8th following his only bogey of the day on the 6th, were the highlights of his round this afternoon.

Playing partners were full of praise for Charlie after he steadied the ship in the first round - finishing a very respectable -1 when he looked in trouble at +2 late on in his round.

Charlie and Simon will defend the title in early July next year when it was announced that the date for the 2027 event is moved to mid-summer

Best of luck to all competing tomorrow in the Westport Golf Club PRO|AM.

One of the biggest prize pots on the Irish Circuit and an excellent event that showcases our beautiful course. With course improvements and the conditions perfect we expect an excellent couple of days of golf!

2026 will be remembered for a lot of things but the Mixed Social every Friday night was special.
