My van broke down last evening on the N59. After several attempts to restart it and a whole mouthful of bad language I calmed myself down and thought "who do I call?" and "is there anything obvious that could be wrong". So I opened the bonnet and shone a torch all over the engine. Of course I had no clue what I was looking for and even less idea of what to do if I found it, but at least I was doing SOMETHING! Having found nothing I sat back into the car and lo and behold the engine started and continued for the remaining 35 kilometres on my journey! I was delighted with myself, I had no idea what I had done, but clearly I had fixed it!
My faith in my mechanical genius was further reinforced when this morning I sat into the car again and turned the key, the engine sprung into life and delighted off I headed , but 1/2 a kilometre down the road it stopped again. So I went through the same routine as last night and inspected the engine, only this time in daylight so I could at least see it. Once again on sitting back into the car the engine started. But my confidence in my mechanical "skills" had taken a little bit of a dent, so I changed my plan, and was relieved to reach my revised destination..... Walsh's Garage Kiltimagh, where my poor sick van will have to remain for a little while.
So thats my excuse for not using the camera today!! This image was made on Tuesday morning as the mist lifted over Ballycragher Bay.
