A huge well done to Odhrán on reaching 25 Personal Training sessions at Motiv8 Fitness 👏

Odhrán attends Personal Training twice a week alongside his Taekwondo training, using strength and conditioning to support his performance in competition.

Taekwondo requires strength, power, balance, coordination and fitness, and Odhrán has been putting in great work both on the mats and in the gym. His sessions are designed to help build these qualities, giving him a stronger foundation for his sport while helping to reduce injury risk and improve overall athletic performance.

What has impressed us most is his consistency. Turning up week after week, putting in the effort and trusting the process is what leads to long-term progress.

25 sessions completed and plenty more to come. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve over the next 25 sessions and beyond 💪

100 sessions for Gabrielle 👏

Gabrielle joined Motiv8 on the 19th of May last year, so reaching 100 sessions almost exactly a year later is a brilliant achievement.

This is what 100 sessions means:
✔️ 100 times showing up
✔️ 100 chances to get stronger
✔️ 100 sessions building confidence, fitness and routine
✔️ Sticking with it, even during the busy or tougher weeks

Progress like this doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from turning up consistently, putting the work in and building healthy habits over time.

We’re very proud of everything Gabrielle has achieved so far and delighted to have her as part of the Motiv8 community

At 83 years of age, Frank continues to train consistently each week and has been working closely with Margo on building strength, mobility, confidence, and maintaining independence through exercise.

Strength training is incredibly important as we get older and can help improve:

When children join our Small Group Youth Classes at Motiv8, one of the first things we do is assess where they’re currently at physically.

This is not about comparing children against each other or deciding who is “good” or “bad” at fitness.

Every child is different.

Some children play sports regularly, while others may be complete beginners or simply not enjoy traditional sports environments. Our role as coaches is to understand where each child is currently at so we can support them properly and help them build confidence over time.

The assessments in this video help us look at:
✔️ strength
✔️ coordination
✔️ balance
✔️ movement quality
✔️ confidence with exercise

The 5 assessments we use are:
• Standing Long Jump
• Goblet Squat
• Bar Press-Ups
• Sit-Ups
• Dead Hang Hold

These tests are simple, safe and suitable for all levels.

Most importantly, we focus on individual progress — not comparison.

We want children to feel supported, enjoy exercise and see how much THEY are improving over time.

Our Small Group Youth Classes are designed for:

They start feeling nervous.

A lot of adults think they need to feel confident, fit or “ready” before joining a gym.

But honestly, one of the biggest things we hear from new members is:
“I was really nervous before starting.”

Whether it’s previous bad experiences, injuries, lack of confidence or simply not knowing where to begin — a lot of people feel this way.

Strides & Strength

A running and strength (cross training) programme designed to help you build strength, improve your running and train more consistently.

Sessions will focus on strength work to support running, improving running technique and efficiency, injury prevention, and building a solid training routine.

Classes will run on:
Wednesdays – 7:30–8:30pm
Fridays – 6:30–7:30pm

This programme is suitable for people who want to improve their running, beginners getting into running, or anyone looking to add more structure to their training with a mix of running and strength work.

Spaces will be limited.

HELL & BACK 2026

We’re getting a Motiv8 team together for Hell & Back again this year!

A few of us went last year and it was great fun — plenty of laughs, mud, obstacles and a good challenge along the way. It’s one of those events that’s more about getting involved and enjoying the day together than taking it too seriously.

This year’s event takes place on Saturday 6th June and there’s limited tickets left, so if you’re interested you’ll need to get registered quickly.

All fitness levels welcome — whether you want to challenge yourself, try something different, or just get through the mud with the group 😂

We are now taking bookings for our next 6-week Down Syndrome Fitness block at Motiv8 Fitness ❤️

Our current block finishes on 22nd May, and the final 6-week block before summer will run from:
📅 29th May – 10th July

After this block, classes will take a short break over the summer before returning on 11th September.

These sessions focus on:
✔️ Building strength & general fitness
✔️ Improving coordination & confidence
✔️ Developing routine & independence
✔️ Creating a supportive and enjoyable environment

Each participant is coached at their own level, with exercises adapted to suit individual needs and abilities.

One of the things parents mention most often is how welcoming and encouraging the environment feels — and how much their child genuinely looks forward to coming each week ❤️

We’re very proud of the community that has been built within these classes and are looking forward to another great block before the summer break.
