Freewheel through Waterford along the Waterford Greenway. The 46km paved bike path winds its way around the base of the Comeragh Mountains and follows the River Suir, with moments of pure bliss and beauty around every bend.

The Waterford Greenway is a multi-use trail which means that walking is also very popular on the trail. Shorter sections of the Greenway like the 1.5km from Waterford Institute of Technology to Killoteran or the 4km from Scartore to Dungarvan make for fantastic walks for people of all abilities. The spectacular Ballyvoyle Tunnel is one of the most iconic features of the Waterford Greenway. The tunnel survives as a reminder of the introduction of the railway network to Waterford by the Fishguard and Rosslare Railways & Harbours Company in the late nineteenth century, which was part of the development of the Great Southern Railway line. The tunnel is atmospheric, retaining much of its original form, and profile since its opening in 1878.
