Ballyshunnock reservoir is a 70 acre man made lake situated on the Portlaw road, 1 mile north of the junction with the N25 Cork road at Carroll's Cross in County Waterford, Ireland. It is regularly stocked with brown and rainbow trout of 1lb plus as well as a healthy native population. It also contains rudd, bream, tench, roach, perch, carp and rudd/bream hybrids. The lake is split by the Portlaw road and there is good access from the two car parks to the two fishable sections of the lake. The brown trout fishing season runs from March 17th to September 30th, all other species can be fished up to December 31st. There is a catch limit of 3 trout per angler per day and only fish of over 30 cm can be taken. All other fish must be returned alive to the water and no coarse fish can be taken or killed. Permits cost €50 per year for adults, € 15 per year for under 18s and € 15 per day. Permits are available at the lake at advertised times.
