💚🤍 MASSIVE WEEKEND AHEAD 🤍💚

It’s a huge weekend for Lurgan Ladies as both our Senior and Junior Ladies have reached the knockout stages of their respective competitions! 💪🏻

Our Senior Ladies are first up tomorrow evening as they take on Crosserlough in the Imperial Bar Senior Championship Semi-Final. There’s always plenty of excitement when these two sides meet and tomorrow promises to be another cracking encounter! This is a repeat of last year’s final, so we’ll be hoping for a similar outcome as our girls battle it out for a place in the final! 💪🏻

On Sunday afternoon, our Junior Ladies face Killygarry in the DOR Electrical Junior B Competition Quarter-Final. After a strong finish to the group stages, the girls will be hoping to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game and book their place in the semi final!

💚🤍 CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS 🤍💚

What a weekend for our Senior & Junior Ladies, with both teams finishing the group stages of their respective championships in style! 👏🏻

Our Junior Ladies put in an outstanding performance against Ballinagh, securing a fantastic win and in doing so, booked their place in the DOR Electrical Junior B Championship Semi-Final! Our Senior Ladies continued their unbeaten run with another impressive victory over Ballyhaise, finishing the group stages at the top!

A special mention to Sara Brady who made her Senior Championship debut. Another of our talented young players stepping up and making her mark at senior level. A fantastic achievement. Here’s to many more years of representing Lurgan Ladies at Senior level 💪🏻

It’s now semi-final weekend for our Senior ladies & quarter-final weekend for our Junior ladies, and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort, commitment and determination shown throughout the championship so far. Fixture details to come for both games 💚🤍

As a club, we are heartbroken to hear of the tragic passing of Louise McDermott.

Our deepest and most sincere condolences go to Louise’s family — her daughter and current Lurgan Ladies Senior player, Kacey, her sons, Sean and Liam, her husband, Robert, her sister-in-law and former Lurgan Ladies player, Emma and to her wider family, friends and all those who knew and loved her.

At times like this, words can feel so inadequate. The sudden loss of someone so loved and valued within our community is a heartbreaking loss that is difficult to comprehend. Louise was a wonderful supporter of Lurgan Ladies and for many years, could be found proudly standing on the sideline cheering Kacey on. Her presence and support meant so much to the club and to those around her.

Today, our thoughts and prayers are with the McDermott and Coe families as they come to terms with this unimaginable loss. We hope that, in the time ahead, the love and support of family, friends and our Lurgan Ladies family will bring some comfort and strength to you all during this incredibly difficult time.

May the cherished memories of Louise, the happiness and warmth she brought to those around her and the lasting mark she made on the lives of so many remain a source of comfort and live on in your hearts always.

Rest peacefully Louise. You will be remembered, you will be missed and you will never be forgotten.

💚🤍 CHAMPIONSHIP CONTINUES 🤍💚

This weekend sees both our Senior & Junior ladies compete in the final group games of their respective Championship campaigns!

Following 2 excellent wins so far in the group stages, the Seniors have claimed top spot and have already secured a semi final spot. A win this evening for the Juniors would secure them a B quarter final spot.

Two very important games and we’d really appreciate as much support as possible on the sideline. These are 2 games that you are not going to want to miss 💚🤍

A huge well done to all our U8 & U10 girls who took part in the Cavan Ladies Gaelic Football blitz last Saturday 💪🏻

All our players put in a fantastic effort, showing plenty of grit, determination and teamwork when it was needed and represented Lurgan Ladies so well 👏🏻

Most importantly the girls had great fun, enjoyed themselves and made some brilliant memories, and that’s what it’s all about!

🏆 WE ARE CAVAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK 🏆

A massive congratulations to Sinead Kelly, who has been selected as the We Are Cavan LGFA Player of the Week following an outstanding performance in our Round 2 Senior Championship win against Knockbride 👏🏻

Sinead was absolutely exceptional on Saturday, putting in an exhibition of football and played a huge part in our performance! Her recognition is all the more deserved given the hard work and determination she has shown to get back on the pitch following an injury earlier in the year. Her commitment, resilience and attitude have been a credit to herself, her family and her club. Well done Sinead, thoroughly deserved! 💚🤍

We also want to give a special mention to another of our Senior Ladies, Clara Lynch, who was nominated for Player of the Week after also giving an excellent performance against Knockbride. Well done Clara! 💚🤍

💚🤍 JUNIOR B CHAMPIONSHIP 🤍💚

Massive congratulations to our Junior Ladies, who battled their way to a fantastic victory over Knockbride in Round 2 of the DOR Electrical Junior B Championship this morning 👏🏻

The girls produced an outstanding performance from start to finish, taking the lead in the 13th minute of the first half and holding onto it right through to the final whistle. It was a real battle from beginning to end, with both teams giving everything, but our girls showed tremendous determination and character to come away with the win 💪🏻

Full time score:
Knockbride: 2-11
Lurgan Ladies: 3-09

A well-deserved two-week break now for the girls before we take on Ballinagh for our final group game. Well done girls! A brilliant team performance 💚🤍
