The National Office for Community Safety is leading on the development of the first National Strategy for Improving Community Safety, on behalf of the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration.

They are inviting the public to contribute to the development of this new National Strategy by taking part in our National Community Safety Survey which is open until 27 February 2026.

People have different experiences of community safety. The National Office want to hear from people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences living in the Republic of Ireland today. Family Support and Development worker (21 hours per week)
Essential Requirements:
• Have had at least three years’ experience of working in Community Development or Family Support setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
• To have a third level qualification in Community Development, Family Support, Social Care or similar.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Have had experience of working with ethnic and minority groups and families.
• Have an understanding of Family Policies and programmes.
• Have a friendly personality.

The beautifully curated display of the Tullow Traveller Women's Groups work at the magical Living Artfully event held in Borris House Carlow last Friday 14th. A wonderful programme to be a part of. Many thanks to Aileen Nolan, Elizabeth Connors, Trish Reilly, Jules Micael, Catriona Roberts and Angelina Foster for all of their guidance and support throughout.
Thank you to Paula Phelan and Joe for their imagination and skills, and to CreativeIrl, County Council and Carlow County Councill for creating the space and opportunity for the group to take part.
