RESULTS

What a great days shoot and turnout !!
We had the first League final with a great attendance of competitors and Michael Nooney’s family competing in this F Class Match shot at 200 and 300 yards. Scores across all of the competitors were tight and impressive.
We had good weather with no rain but had challenging winds coming from 3 o’clock at speeds of 16mph to 20mph. If you did not pay enough attention to the flags you got severely punished and as I suspect almost everyone if not everyone got punished at least once !! Without the challenging winds where would the fun and craic be and one thing is for sure the Midlands ranges have plenty of challenging winds swirling around the place 🤣

We introduced our new 200 yard target for the first time into this match and I think it’s fair to say the dimensions are suitable for 200 yards.More info regarding target dimensions later.
Martin O Connor set the first 200 yards range record with a score of 100.9 (2+20)
Ainars Maskalans set the 300 yards range record with a score of 100.10 (2+20) at the first leg of the League last February.

More competitive scores with VBulls needed to take the Agg Match and its hats off to John O Donoghue with an impressive high V Bull count. A veteran F Class competitor although it was his first 22lr F Class Match and it looks like his wind reading skills played a role in his performance. Good shooting !!

1st Carlos De Carvalho. 110mm

Great group considering the conditions that were blustering about the place with wind speeds up to 20 mph. Carlos elevation was only 52mm and with the help of cross winds it stretched to 110mm.
Fantastic result !!

Aidan a consistent high scoring competitor not surprisingly has set the 2026 Best Group.He certainly given us a challenging range record to beat !!
Aidan also the won the CZ 457 Range rifle

Great to see high scores and close to one another. Paul Dowling earned his first place in a very competitive F Class match. He was consistently amongst the top shooters throughout the league and did what had to be done to win the league on the final day !! “You reap what you sow “ On behalf of everyone congratulations to Paul on winning the First Michael Nooney Memorial Cup 2026 FClass League. Your name will be printed on the base of the cup and displayed proudly in MNSCI clubhouse. 👏

The day went flawlessly thanks to Brian and Tom and Tony who have always beenthere running the Leagues matches and as most of you know were very close friends of Michael . Brian and Tom come from the same town as Michael in Kildare.

Presentations was held after a tasty BBQ
delivered by J Reynolds , thanks John it hit the spot 👌

Not only had we Michael’s family at the Presentation they took part in the Match as well and it’s certain they will be back for next years League.
Michael was a keen F Class competitor and had set the 2025 Best group range record. He was also a Range Controlling Officer and gave most of his time giving back to sport and helping out where he could.
I’m certain he would be very happy with the attendance of his family and all his shooting friends who took part in his Memorial competition. We look forward to the 2027 League with Micheal Nooney’s Memorial Match being on the Final. That will be an annual Match worth competing in.
Going on numbers of attendance and witnessing the camaraderie and craic in this Match it’s obvious that we need more targets which is a good complaint.

It’s early September and there’s still a few weeks left in the year to arrange dates for
more F Class matches in particular Team shooting. Positive feedback from the floor during the presentations looking for Team matches will be catered for asap .

This is the Michael Nooney memorial Match. Food and excellent prizes on the day. All proceeds go to charity.

The Finals of the F Class ,Best Group and STAGS league will be held on the Sunday 6th of September. This Match will be held in memory of Michael Nooney and presentations will be carried out by his family. All proceeds of this match will go to Charity. This Match had only 1 competitor unfortunately and I believe it opened eyes amongst all F Class competitors to the skillfull shooting carried out by Stephen Hogan with his trusty 22lr Anschutz 54
that is 53 years old ( probably older than himself and it still shoots straight 🤣)
