A SPECIAL ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the setting of a Tennis World Record by four local men attracted a great turnout at Tullamore Tennis Club on Sunday.

The event took place after the annual Anne Coughlan tournament.

Dermot Burke, Liam Hoctor, Brian McSweeney and Mick Shelly returned to the club where they set a world record of 55 hours for a continuous Men's Doubles match and were welcomed by players young and not so young.

The four were particularly happy to see Tadhg Lambe and Eva Marron in attendance as they said the record attempt wouldn't have been successful without them. - Offaly Express

A fresh look for Tullamore Tennis Club

What a fantastic weekend we had for the Ann Coughlan Memorial , full of tennis, community spirit, and heartfelt memories. 💛

In the lead up to the event, our clubhouse got a fresh new look, and a big clean up and we want to take a moment to thank the hardworking committee members and club volunteers who gave their time and effort to make it all happen.

The clubhouse looked amazing , special thanks to Kenneth Mann for doing a wonderful job painting.

The atmosphere was something truly special.
Here’s to community, to tennis, and to keeping Ann’s memory alive 🫶🏻

Singles open 2025

Our Tour 200 Singles open will run from May 30th to June 7th. Theres 7 categories catering for all levels. Entry will open tonight at 12am and will close on the 26th May, places will be limited so get your entry in early. The cost will be €16 for your first event and €10 for your second, plus the increased €9 capitation fees to tennis ireland. We hope to grow from our open last year and we've learned alot. Hope you guys can support us.
