Round 5 of the Tri Lakes TT Series completed! 🚴‍♂️

The legs were still feeling Saturday’s race, and I just couldn’t find any extra power when it mattered most. Despite that, I’m happy with the result and pleased to keep the consistency going. Every race is another step forward and another opportunity to learn.

Looking forward to the final round next week and giving it everything I’ve got! 💪

Race day done ✅

First triathlon race of the season completed as part of my Sub 10 Ironman with Type 1 Diabetes project.

Happy with the performance overall. A steady swim set up the day, followed by a strong bike leg. I decided to push the pace to see how my legs would respond on the run, and I was pleased to finish feeling strong and knowing there was still more to give.

Finished 7th in my age group, which is a solid checkpoint on the journey. With almost three months until Ironman Tallinn, the focus remains on consistent training, smart recovery, and continuing to build fitness.

The work continues. 🚴🏊🏃

Another solid week of training in the books. The body is carrying a bit of fatigue, but that’s part of the process. Every session, every early morning and every tough mile is another step closer to my Sub10 Ironman project while racing with Type 1 Diabetes. Progress is built in the hard weeks. 💪🏊🚴🏃

Round 2 of the Tri Lakes TT done and dusted. Happy with the performance, but already feeling there was more left in the legs and I should have pushed harder. Small margins, big lessons — all part of the process and motivation for the next one. 🚴‍♂️🔥

Tuesday Tri Lakes TT done ✔️

Great to be back racing and even better to do it surrounded by the Tri Lakes family. Short and sharp 12 km course for round one — a proper test from the start.

Happy with the result and a solid marker to build on. More to come 👊. 📸

First time this year ticking off the Charlestown and back route. Not the most exciting course, but perfect for dialling in intervals and locking into aero position on the bike.

Progress building nicely—plenty more to come on the road to Sub 10 at Ironman Tallinn.

Training camp coming to an end — and what a block it’s been.

A big step forward in my journey towards a Sub 10-hour Ironman, proving that living and racing with Type 1 Diabetes doesn’t set limits.

Over 6 days:
• 26+ hours of training
• 450 km on the bike with 6000+ m elevation
• 40 km running
• 15 km swimming

Massive thanks to the crew from Triathlon DNA for the support, the miles, and the laughs — and to coach Neil for the guidance and pushing the pace when it mattered.

Now it’s time to absorb the work, recover properly, and come back stronger. The job’s not done yet.

Strong ride today, finishing with a PB on Tabayesco climb ⛰️

38:47 on the clock — 6 minutes faster than last year. Progress is real, and the work is paying off.

Easy spin, but still 1000m in the legs 🌋🚴‍♂️
