Durrus Athletic Club

Durrus Athletic Club Durrus Athletic Club was originally formed in 1973 and after an absence of many years, the Club has been reformed in 2016. at Durrus Community Field.

We welcome adults, teenagers & children. Training is held for all ages every Monday and Friday from 5.45 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. You must be a registered member of Durrus A.C. to take part in training and competitions. For enquiries regarding joining or trying out athletics, please contact Michael on 086 856 7179. This page exists for both Parents and Juvenile Athletes to keep up to date with Training Sessions, Race Fixtures and Results. (Durrus Athletic Club is affiliated with and governed by the rules of the Athletics Association of Ireland).

KILLARNEY HALF MARATHON — what an absolutely incredible day!

Michael Harrington was on fire, finishing 6th overall and 1st in his age category in a blistering 1:17:35. 🥇

Julie O'Brien was the 2nd lady home with a stunning 1:25:25 — what a run! 🥈

It's a double celebration for Mr. & Mrs. Lawton — Mary and Maurice — BOTH ran personal bests on the same day! Mary crossed in 1:48:04 and Maurice in 1:41:14. 🎉

Massive congratulations to all four — you've made the whole club proud! 💪

Well done to Sam Towns, Liam Horstmanshoff and Aodh Andrews🥉 who competed in the Boys U17 1500m at Cork County Track & Field Day 2 in MTU on Sunday May 3rd.
Strong performances by all 3 at the end of an extremely busy week of races - Sunday was their 4th day competing in the past week at MTU!

Sunday April 26th was Day 1 of County Track & Field at MTU. Durrus AC had 3 athletes competing. Aodh Andrews and Liam Horstmanshoff finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Boys U17 3000m. Sam Towns put in a really strong performance in Boys U17 800m.

Sunday April 19th saw the first day of competition on the brand new track . What an experience for our Durrus AC athletes to experience this for the first time in West Cork! We had more than 30 athletes compete on the day, some brilliant performances at every age group & a few medals came home too!

First day out of the 2026 season for our Durrus AC crew. Dunmanway was the venue for the West Cork Road Races.

Congratulations to all our athletes that competed this morning and a special 🙌 to Sonny and Romy Cleary that finished 2nd & 3rd in their respective races.
