We have been forced to start our social media accounts from scratch. Please read below and follow our new page South West Taekwon-Do

New name, same team!

To make a long story short, our social media accounts were hacked in 2020 and although we were able to recover them we have not been able to resolve the issue fully and have not been able to use the marketing tools needed in this day and age.

So we have decided to start from scratch with both Instagram and Facebook. We will be using the name South West Taekwon-Do going forward. This is something that has been in the pipeline for a while and with having to start our social media accounts again it’s as good a time as any to make the change!

Any likes, shares and follows would be much appreciated as we spent many years slowly building our previous accounts so having to start again at this point is less than ideal!

Our next competition is the Munster Open in February! Save the date!

The ITA Munster Open will take place in WIT Arena, Waterford on the weekend of Feb 5th & 6th 2022

To our past members:

‘I wish I stuck at it’ are words we often hear as adults when talking to friends or family about activities they did in their younger years.

Whether you trained with us for 5 sessions, 5 months, or 5 years, you have contributed to club we have become today and will always be welcome back should you choose to return. You would be amazed at how quickly technique, timing and fitness can be regained.

‘But everyone I trained with is a higher belt now’ - So what! Although we train together as a team, this is an individual journey and everyone progresses at different rates. Even siblings who start on the same day will progress differently over the years.

It’s never too late to get involved again and we would be happy to see you coming through the doors!

On day 2 of the National Championships we had 7 students take to the mats. 5 of those made it to the podium!

Massive congratulations to everyone who put themselves out there today. Win or lose, the experience gained is invaluable!

Special mention to Alex who became National Sparring Champion for the second year running. He is also Munster Open sparring champion and is yet to lose a fight in competition, what a run he is on 👏

A fantastic weekend all round. Thanks to for hosting such a spectacular event.

Erin was our sole representative at today’s National Championships in Limerick. She had a fantastic day, coming home with Gold in Special Technique and Silver in Sparring.

Great experience and results at her first outing in the cadet category. Leading by example for the rest of our juniors who take to the mats tomorrow!

Well done Erin, you did us proud 😊

20 years ago 🤯 Mr Power at the Irish Cup in 2001, held in the University of Limerick. There will be a very different scene this weekend at the same venue.

No mats and there was no such thing as electronic scoring. It’s amazing to see how far martial arts has come and it is still growing rapidly.

The very best of skill to our 8 students competing as well as all other competitors from around the country. It’s great to see a return to competition!
